Hello Ultra-backers,

Many of us are waiting to hear about Onyx Path's catch-up print plan, eager for our World Below hardcovers. Rich talked about the challanges they've had with getting predictable printing costs and how they're working to get their backlog sorted over the next year in his lastest Monday Meeting Notes. The summary is they've got a handful of books to get into production once the current project is finished (which is still underway) and they may be doing a couple of books at a time to move through the titles, but he won't announce an order or what's in production until it's actually underway to keep expectations in check. So, there's work being done and we'll know when we see the SPU Core Manual going to press, but that's still some time ahead of us. The good news is they have a plan and at some point, we'll have the books in our hands.

June 2026 Monthly Update

Hello Ultra-backers,

For hardcover backers: I have no big updates to announce on that front just yet. 

Our hardcover rewards are running behind and need to have Onyx Path's print queue all ironed out. I can tell you that Onyx Path switched to a new printer at the end of last year and so far they've tested out the process with one deluxe hardcover book and one standard hardcover book, and they're lining up a multi-format project next. When that's all locked and loaded, they should have a pretty good understanding of the process for each kind of project and will hopefully be able to get more detailed with their print plans. But that's all for discussion at much higher levels than me. I'll pass along any info I find out, but the long and short is that we're gonna be waiting for our hardcovers for a bit more.

The trio of Stretch Goal rewards aren't quite as complicated, it's just more about the team finding a moment and getting to that part of the list. I'll continue to monitor their progress, share updates with you each month, and distribute rewards once they're ready.

That doesn't mean there's nothing to talk about in terms of Storypath Ultra, of course! In fact, there's a whole amazing conversation that just happened!

May 2026 Update - OPP CON in TWO WEEKS

Hello Ultra-backers,

A few projects are moving forward on Onyx Path's print production timeline, but no word yet on the SPU Core Manual hardcover. I'll continue to monitor and ask about our pending Stretch Goal projects and share info with you once a month. It's not very exciting, but I want you to know that I'm at least paying attention and checking in with the Onyx Path crew and reading Rich's Monday Meeting Notes so nothing will be forgotten or sneak by.

The best place for info is directly from the source, and we'll all find out more in two weeks!


It's that time of year again! Onyx Path will be running their virtual gaming convention in a few weeks - FRIDAY JUNE 5 to SUNDAY JUNE 7.



As noted, all panels will be streaming on Onyx Path's Twitch channel running Friday June 5 - Sunday June 7, and Actual Plays will be streaming at Plastic Age Plays channel.

April 2026 Monthly Update

Hello Ultra-backers,

We're still in a print/production holding pattern, circling overhead as the Onyx Path team figures out how to fill in their print schedule slots. They've successfully completed production and fulfillment with their new printing and distribution partners, so there's a template to apply as they go forward, and a few projects have already joined the queue, but not this one just yet.

So, I'll continue to monitor and ask about our pending Stretch Goal projects and share info with you once a month. It's not very exciting, but I want you to know that I'm at least paying attention and checking in with the Onyx Path crew and reading Rich's Monday Meeting Notes so nothing will be forgotten or sneak by.

So let's get to it! 

First up, the latest Tasty Bit release for the Storypath Ultra system has been released on DTRPG:


Lucha libre has persisted into The Y2K World of Pinfall from Grace, Body Slams from Hell, and this Tasty Bit can help inject a variety of lucha-inspired elements into your Storypath Ultra game.

This expansion for our sample setting joins the previous Storypath Ultra Tasty Bit releases:

While the book and dice are waiting for an opening in the production schedule, the stretch goal milestone markers are waiting for an open day in the schedule. I'll continue to pester the Onyx Path people and see if we can't fill in some dots before too long.

March 2026 Monthly Update

Hello Ultra-backers,

With the Storypath Ultra Core Rulebook now available in PDF and Print-on-Demand, focus turns to getting this added to Onyx Path's print queue, so that the crowdfunded hardcovers can be manufactured and sent out as a thank you to supporters. Manufacturing challenges hit Onyx Path pretty hard last year, but they've recently found a new print partner and completed their first project with them. Now that they've run through the A to Z of a production cycle, they're able to start slotting in delayed projects and start working through the backlog.

So, it'll take a while still to catch up to us, but they'll get there, and I'll continue to update each month as new information comes our way.
